When I finished interviewing last week’s Open House star Cady McClain, she surprised me by offering to show me her building’s roof, which offers spectacular Manhattan views.  Imagine watching last weekend’s fireworks from this vantage point.

Facebook status updates are a mixed bag to be sure, but I love Ani Ancient Stone owner Ani Antreasyan’s, which say things like, “working on a garden in the Hampton’s,” or “enjoying the vista from my client’s Manhattan balcony.”  I guess that’s what happens when people follow their dreams – more interesting Tweets.

“What are you wearing now?” I write in an e-mail to interior designer, blogger and today’s Open House star James Andrew.  I’m wearing a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and my loafers, and I’m hoping the What Is James Wearing? blogger will cop to wearing something equally sloppy (but I already know he won’t).
