The late legendary New York socialite, Brooke Astor's Upper East Side Park Avenue home is on the market; many of you have expressed interest in moving to Manhattan, so I'd feel derelict in my duties if I didn't at least mention it. (If you don't know her story, read the always excellent NY Magazine's recent article).
The space, to be frank, needs a bit of updating; while I love the library's red lacquer shelves, I'm not digging any of the window treatments, and do NOT get me started on that hideous green color in the dining room. But even as is, it'd be a nice "in-towner." Please let us know if you do decide to splurge. I'd love to see the before and after photos. It's a buyers market, so this is the time. Go for it.
What do you think? You can see the entire 46 million dollar listing here.
