Vintage home design sites (a list for your perusal)

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Actually, it’s not. The weather in Chicago is warm and muggy, and my windows are rattling in response to wave after wave of rolling thunder.  Nevertheless, the holidays are nigh, and Black Friday, the annual kickoff of the holiday shopping season is just days away. Best Buy opens at 5 a.m. Friday morning, so I’m planning to chug a couple bottles of 5 Hour Energy, stay up all night and get in line at midnight. Not really, but apparently that kind of extreme shopping is a beloved annual tradition for many folks. If you’d rather avoid the crowds and inevitable mid-afternoon nausea, here are some of my favorite vintage online shopping resources. Not every shop offers a cart, but I included only those with product photos and prices. What did I miss? Please share your favorites!

  1. Not to toot my own horn, but I have teamed up with a lovely lady to open an upscale consignment furniture and home shop in Lincoln Park called Berry Hill. On halsted, just north of fullerton. It completely rocks…great things for great prices!

  2. Congrats Dave! I’m sure it’s spectacular. Do you have a website setup yet?

  3. Tate, thanks so much for including my little store, Small Equals. This plus a really nice compliment from designer Richard Hollant really made my day. I’m sure you know, some days it just feels like you’re shouting into the wind. You try and try to have the best store, blog, whatever, and it seems nobody is paying attention. Then there are days when people you trust seem to notice and appreciate what you are doing. You’ve made it that kind of day for me. Thank you.

Tate you need to head over to Neiman Marcus and pick up a couple of shirts from Etro,,,,,they would look so good on you. Forget the rest of it!

  5. I just looked at all the stores you listed and they are all FABULOUS!!! I’m so impressed. And am honored that you’ve included my in such great company. I love how each store has a different format, too. So much to look at, so much I want to own, and so much to think about and enjoy. Merci.
