Open House: Robert’s far East Lakeview apartment (far out!)

Many thanks to interior designer John Gray for suggesting I contact Robert Stordalen about his Lakeview apartment. “He has like 24 of those ceramic warriors from the Ming dynasty. His personal collection MUST be amazing.” John was right, and Time Out Chicago thought so too. I’ve included a few of my scouting shots, but please pick up a copy of my TOC House Call, Asian Invasion, to see the entire place. Thanks Robert!

I’d swipe the long, custom made, biscuit-tufted sofa. What would you swipe?

Robert does have a very unique and impressive apartment. His collection is fantastic and I am so very happy that he is sharing it with all of us.

Very, very beautiful apartment, furnitures and collection. Would love some more information on how he has done the lightning of his objects.

  3. More pictures, please! Don’t tease us with only three pictures. I would swipe everything and anything.

  4. Lovely photos, but of course you want us all to dash out and get Time Out Chicago to see the whole spread. Sorry, it’s not available in Canada… would you consider sending me a copy by snail-mail? Many thanks in advance, CS

  5. nice. kinda billy haines does asian.

  6. The first time I had seen Robert’s collection, I thought I as very lucky to have a chance to tour his elite collection and apartment. The way he has all of his collections displayed, shows how proud he is of his collections. This is a must have magazine.
