The Object Design League sponsored  The Worth Your Salt Pop Up Shop has popped up at Bucktown’s Pavilion.  And the concept’s clearly una situación Win-Win-Win!

1.)  Young designers get a splashy venue and a little attention (they also keep all profits).

2.)  Pavilion gets to expose their wares to an audience likely to be interested in aesthetic on at least some level.

3.)  And you, the jaded shopper, have the opportunity to buy extraordinarily limited runs of very well-designed products that might astonish, delight or perhaps even tickle the true you that’s buried somewhere beneath your seen-it-all bravado.

“Part of the mission of the Object Design League is to support experimental and emerging design, and that means helping designers find commercial success,” says Object Design League’s Lisa Smith.  “Which is why we produced a shop instead of just an exhibition, though Worth Your Salt intends to be both.”

Swell.  Thanks Lisa.  The Worth Your Salt Pop Up Shop will be wrapping things up on December 11th, 2009, so hurry over.  These products are very well-priced and would make the ideal one-of-a-kind gift.  Plus, you’ll be helping a young designer.

The Worth Your Salt Pop Up Shop – through December 11th at Pavilion Antiques.

And lest I forget, Pavilion’s looking AMAZING, so I’ll share some photos next week.  Have a great weekend.
