On Location During Flor’s Catalog Shoot (and an Open House Update)
Last week I had the opportunity to hang out with the Flor team during a shoot for their upcoming spring catalog. Like many companies who produce catalogs, the Flor folks use actual homes for their photo shoots, but unlike many companies who will remove all the furniture, change out window treatments and sometimes even paint, the Flor team use the homeowner’s personal style as a way to demonstrate the versatility of their product.
Flor’s onto something with this concept; when I heard they’d selected Chicago fashion designers Mark and Linda Heister’s La Porte mansion for their shoot, I had my doubts that the more contemporary tiles would complement the stylish couple’s signature 30′s-era Hollywood glamor. But the tiles are breathtaking and add the pitch perfect punch of color to the home’s dramatic palette. Check out Flor’s website to see the style and color options available, and be sure to visit their blog post about this topic.
The Heister’s were very impressed with Flor’s professionalism and product. The crew was friendly and considerate, and they left the space exactly like they found it. What’s not to like? Thanks to the always gracious (and fun!) Heister’s for making the day so enjoyable and to my new friends at Flor for allowing me to tag along. Be sure to visit the longtime Chicago fashion designer’s website.
Also keep watching for an Open House update with the Heister’s recently finished bathroom and media room complete with leopard wall-to-wall carpeting, which was like design catnip for this really butch guy (I purred the whole ride home).
