Portfolio Review: Handman Associates

Portfolio Review will be a new semi-regular column showcasing the work of Chicago’s best Interior Designers (although I’m always open to showcasing great spaces from around the world). I will photograph some of the spaces, but that’s not a requirement, so if you’re a designer and would like to be featured, please e-mail me at strangeclosets@yahoo.com.

Kicking things off, a gorgeous Lincoln Park home (complete with courtyard) designed by the folks at Handman Associates. Founded by Shelly Handman, the firm has been published extensively in magazines such as Architectural Digest and Better Homes & Gardens.

I’m in love with the serene feeling, the gorgeous furniture and the use of art throughout the space. Finally, at the risk of getting beat up, I feel positively giddy when I look at the homeowner’s daughter’s bedroom; the combination of green and cream is wonderful (I would lay on that bed and gossip on the phone and read design magazines all night).
