Open House: Liz and Greg’s Rogers Park town home

When Liz and Greg decided to leave their Uptown condo, they wanted more space, garage parking and most importantly, new construction. Both busy professionals working more than 60 hours per week, Liz and Greg knew they didn’t have the time or energy to do more than tell the movers where to set the boxes.

After looking at a number of single family homes and condos, they stumbled upon a new townhome development in Rogers Park that seemed like a good alternative. The three bedroom end-unit has windows on three sides and is flooded with light from the south, west and north.

Liz and Greg first focused on decorating their great room and kitchen, choosing warm tones and a few larger furniture pieces. I’ve been living with cool grays, so I really love the warm, autumnal feel of their space. And I would kill for those rich cherry wood floors.

Liz is now focused on completing their second floor office; she is obsessing about a glass top desk from Williams Sonoma Home and an accent wall covered with David Hicks wallpaper. The desk has an X-base, so naturally, I approve. She’s also thinking of adding a glass tile back-splash in the kitchen.

Recently, their family expanded with the addition of a tiny little yap . . . dog of some sort, Biscuit or Tucker or something. He’s a cute little guy though.

  1. What a dump :)

  2. The patio is nice, rooftop? they did a nice job with the finishes and decorating.

  3. I’m a fan of the warm colors too! We have the same taste – although I would die for the cherry wood floors in my place too. My favorite is that little cuteface on the couch!

  4. I love this place – so warm and cozy, nice muted colors. My comfort zone exactly.
